Yummy cheese balls and a cheese, meat, and tomato pizza, courtesy of the German Dan, enjoyed by Sid, Effie, Jeff, Tatev, and me. That’s Effie punching the next batch of dough to death.
And on the other side of the creek, Tom the Englishman cooked Yorkshire Pudding. There was also a steak party going on somewhere in the residential village.
Apparently, every Sunday is special for the dormers!

Cooked meat for the first time in New Zealand. Forgot the salt and pepper.
Improvised.

Had the orientation for COMM students this morning, getting to know some of the professors and visiting the library for the first time. My creative writing professor seemed really interesting. I’ll see how that goes next week. I was able to meet Lukas from Austria, Roop from India, and Lorraine from Indonesia during lunch.
After the orientation and a (long) afternoon nap, someone in the dormitory called to everyone like a medieval town crier: “Barbecue tonight! Bring your own food!” I figured I’d join them and get to know more of my neighbors. Alex the Frenchman grilled burgers, sausages, chicken, and salmon in really great wine. Apparently, his father often sends him a bottle. Ah, the French. While eating, I got to know Albert from Spain, who was visiting his sister Anna in the dormitory, and Anne from Denmark. The one playing the guitar and singing in the video is Ryan. He’s part of a band and plays great music. So many of us come from all around the world—the experience has been overwhelming so far.
… I still need that towel, though. Maybe I’ll be able to pick one up during the bus tour tomorrow. It’ll be my first time around Auckland! During the barbecue, Albert told me how great it was seeing the sights up north. He was also in the south island for a few weeks with his sister, and according to him, twenty days was not enough to experience the sheer awesomeness of the place. And speaking of the south island, Anne reminded me about the filming of The Hobbit. If it will indeed start filming while I’m here, I will do everything I can to witness it in person. I have to. Even for a day. Had such a geek moment when she mentioned it.
Things are starting to get interesting.
Welcome to "The Station Between Two Worlds". Views from real and cyber space.
My friends know that I like taking photos with my dSLR, and that I like to envision movies and write stories whenever I can. Many of them don’t know how it all started though.
Gaming. Ever since I discovered how to take screenshots of those special moments in cyber space, my imagination only went wilder. And it was a good thing.
So here I am, trying to capture my experiences in two worlds, and share them so that others may experience them too.
I hope you enjoy the random things I have to share, for whatever they’re worth.
