    March 2, 2011.
Woke up early in the morning for the International Student Orientation at The Hub, meeting up with Sid from India, Dan from Germany, and “Effie” from China on the way.
From The Hub, all the international students (roughly a thousand) walked up to the sports center to receive a Māori welcome. When we arrived, the Māori tribe burst out of the entrance, shouting and grunting loudly and wielding spears in their traditional garb. The CEO of Unitec picked up a branch at the entrance on the students’ behalf—there “would have been war” with the tribe if he hadn’t done so. A Māori woman then sang gracefully as the students entered the sports center.
Unfortunately, no photos were allowed during the ceremony. The Maori tribe sang and danced on stage and welcomed us into the Unitec “family”, even joining the professors and students for afternoon tea after the program. We were now officially a part of Aotearoa (New Zealand).
Apparently, the Māori inhabited the Philippines before moving on to Aotearoa. One of the Unitec speakers quoted his Filipino friend: “When the Maori die, they should not go to the afterlife. They should go to the Philippines!”
After the orientation, I went to another one for “study abroad” students, where we got our class schedules and Student Association information. There was a lot to sign up for, and that was only around Auckland! I will walk on top of the Sky Tower one of these days. And I really, really hope that I’ll get to see the south island.

Welcome to "The Station Between Two Worlds". Views from real and cyber space.

My friends know that I like taking photos with my dSLR, and that I like to envision movies and write stories whenever I can. Many of them don’t know how it all started though.

Gaming. Ever since I discovered how to take screenshots of those special moments in cyber space, my imagination only went wilder. And it was a good thing.

So here I am, trying to capture my experiences in two worlds, and share them so that others may experience them too.

I hope you enjoy the random things I have to share, for whatever they’re worth.
